Primary Objective Of Position • Work in coordination with TL, project Engineers & Vendor to build E&D samples in the lab. • Test induction motors on dynamometer as per instructions given by Project Engineers. • Keep the stock of all the material in the lab and conduct monthly audits for inventory, safety & 5S. Primary Job Responsibilities • * Understand the requirements of sample build from project engineers and build the samples accordingly with the help of motor winder. Interact with project engineers and ask questions in case of ambiguity. • Understand the marked-up drawings & BOM in the system to guide vendor to build motor samples • Coordinate with an outside vendor & project engineers to ensure vendor employee is available for the samples build whenever needed. Coordinate with different stakeholders (vendor, project engineers, customers) to ensure samples are delivered when required. • Keep the stock of copper wire, aluminum wire, laminations, sleeves, protectors, lead assemblies and other required material for sample build. • Update the stock of material regularly (every 15 days) and order the material when needed to ensure there is no shortage of material for the sample build. • Ensure quality of sample build as per instructions/drawings provided by project engineers. • Work with vendors to perform varnishing on the motor samples. • Perform high-voltage, surge, coreloss & resistance measurement tests on samples build by the vendor. • Record the required information requested by project engineers during sample build. • Enter test request whenever needed to conduct the testing of motors. • Assemble the motor on dynamometer fixture. Adjust the air-gap for the test motor using three-point fixture available on dynamometer. • Perform different tests as requested by the project engineers. • Analyze the preliminary test results and share the data for detailed analysis with project engineers. • Perform the calibration of dynamometer as per the established process. • Troubleshoot dynamometer using available drawing in case of any failures to the system. • Destructive analysis of induction motors to remove winding from stators and cut endrings • Observe all safety procedures and policies and use proper protective equipment (especially eye, ear protection and steel toe shoes/boots, gloves, etc.). Follow all the safety guidelines 100% to ensure safe lab operations. • Report all injuries, near misses and accidents immediately to a supervisor. • Safety documentation - Maintain monthly records for electrical equipment’s maintenance, check list for visual check points for each machine in lab, first-aid kit needs to be checked and fill monthly, whenever required. Provide safety trainings to vendors. • Keep all the documentation in place and review it during monthly audits. Safety, security, Inventory & 5S audits will be conducted every month. • Work with outside suppliers whenever any new part/tools must be built in the lab. Understand the drawings and explain it to the suppliers to ensure first time right parts/tools are built. • Participate in team meetings and the design verification process. • Create relevant engineering documents such as drawings, Inspection & Material sheets, test procedures, technical specifications, and relevant proposal documentation, whenever required. • Assume additional roles and responsibilities as required. • Adherence to quality processRequirements • Minimum Bachelor/Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree in related field. • Minimum 3-5 years relevant Electrical Engineering experience in rotating machine or HVAC industry. • Experience in lab operations & troubleshooting of equipment required. • Candidates with experience in Rotating machines and HVAC system are preferred. • Knowledge and experience to read engineering drawings is required. • Knowledge of rotating machines required • Negotiation skills required while working with vendors • Strong interpersonal skills and team working skills required. • Willingness to learn is critical Primary Location India-Maharashtra-Pune Job Function Engineering skills-Qualifications-Diploma, BE/B.TechExperience-3 to 3+ Years
